Ventura New Music Festival

This year the Ventura New Music Festival will be using two rooms at
City Hall for an all-day, non-stop series of new creative music.
Well, O.K., we will break for dinner.

Our Festival features a combination of composed, improvised, acoustic and electronic music
being created by living artists. One of the longest lasting "underground" festivals in Ventura,
(maybe even the longest, but hey, there might be something so underground that even we don't know about it)
we have a history that goes back to 1987...more to come on that.

12 noon		The Unmentionables: Chamber compositions and improvisation for guitar, trumpet and percussion. Featuring Kris Tiner, Nathan Hubbard and Noah Phillips
12:45pm	Soundtrack Symphony Oxnard-based instrumental ensemble consisting of an experimental blend of guitar, drums, bass, keyboards, and samples. Featuring: Tony Luna, Che Orozco, David Anthony Sotelo
1:30pm		Ellen Burr Chamber compositions and improvisation for flute and mixed ensemble
2:15pm	The Transhumans Bob Sterling: acoustic and electronic drums, fx, sampler, synth Patrick Rodriguez: synths, fx, sampler Justin Cassidy: synth, fx, sampler
3:00pm		Emily Hay Flute, Voice, electronics Carey Fosse, Electric Guitar Joe Berardi, percussion Improvised music...
3:45pm	Michael Vlatkovich/William Roper Insanely difficult compositions and improvisations for trombone and tuba.
4:30pm		Ted Killian/ William Harrington FIRST MEETING: Duo Electric guitar and electronic improvisations from two guys who have never met before. Ever!
5:15pm	Rich West: Homunculus Incredibly rocking compositions and improvisations of Rich West
6-7:30pm	DINNER BREAK Sample local cuisine, but come back on time....the evening of the festival is packed with rock and jazz tinged performances featuring new compositions with lots of improvisation.
7:30pm	The Choir Boys Acoustic Quintet Jeff Kaiser, trumpet, compositions; Andrew Pask, woodwinds; Tom McNalley, elecric guitar; Jim Connolly, electric bass; Brad Dutz, Drum Kit
